What is Fotona4D?
Fotona4D is a series of non-invasive laser treatments of both the exterior facial and interior oral cavity, enabling full-thickness contraction of collagen for persistent tightening and volumization without injectables. With 2 laser wavelengths (Er:YAG and Nd:YAG) and 4 treatment modes, the procedure targets facial aging, face lifting, skin rejuvenation, skin pigmentation, skin tightening and wrinkle reduction. This treatment progresses in 4 steps:
- SmoothLiftin™
The first stage of the procedure involves a pain-free treatment which targets volume. This process is called collagen induction. A non-ablative Er:YAG intraoral treatment for controlled and gentle bulk-heating to stimulate collagen contraction. In addition to an immediate effect resulting in the shrinkage of collagen fibres, the initiation of new collagen generation occurs. The effects result in an overall improvement of tightness and elasticity in the treated tissue as well as a plumping effect (like filler).
- FRAC3®
The second step involves a self-induced, fractional effect of the Nd:YAF laser and a specific pulse structure that generates tiny regional spikes of high temperature. This nonablative modality enables the treatment of specific, deeper imperfections to complement the effect of the treatment, as well as restore youthful texture.
3 PIANO®
The third stage of Fotona4D involves a ultra-long Nd:YAG pulse mode. The laser causes bulk tissue heating safely and rapidly, from the outside in, by concentrating energy delivery subcutaneously. The PIANO pulse is in the super-extended seconds regime mode, with a brushing technique for completing the full-thickness bulk heating with an overall synergistic tightening effect. This provides an outstanding tightening effect for areas experiencing skin laxity.
4 SupErficial™
The final stage includes a light cold Er:YAG ablation that gives a peral finish to the skin. It improves the appearance of the skin and reduces imperfections to reveal the brighter, healthier tissues below and provides that noticeable glow to your skin.
How many treatments are required?
This non-invasive treatment is perfect for busy clients who don't have time for bruising or swelling. Many clients will see instant results and improvements even after one treatment, however, we recommend a course of 3-4 treatments (1 every 4 weeks).
What can I expect during and after my Fotona4D facelift?
Each person is different, but you can expect minimal to no discomfort during the treatment. The final step of the procedure can feel quite warm and prickly, but this can easily be overcome by using a cool compressor to blow cold air over the area. Posttreatment clients may feel warm for the first 24 hours and experience some redness (like a mild sunburn). Most patients can resume their daily activities immediately following the treatment.
The treated area may feel tight and clients might experience some flaking for up to 1 week depending on the level of peel performed. We recommend avoiding heat exposure during this time and to maintain sun protection.
